Hi everyone, greetings from Mexico City. I’m Amel, Gender Equality, Social Inclusion and Safeguards Manager with the Global Coordination Project of the Ecosystem Restoration Integrated Program. I’m passionate about how communities, particularly women and Indigenous groups, protect their ecosystems, and I’m committed to making their knowledge and leadership more visible and recognized. As you can probably tell, I’m very much focused on people . I’m excited to learn from your experiences and to explore how restoration can be achieved with and for communities in your countries and territories.
Hi everyone! I’m Sofía Lozano, Spatial Restoration Analyst for the Global Coordination Project of the Ecosystem Restoration Integrated Program. I’m based in Colombia and love using spatial data to help strengthen restoration planning and monitoring.
Really excited to connect, have good spatial discussions and share insights in this forum — exploring how we can use spatial data and processes to advance restoration together!
My name is Gabriela Viana Moreira, and I am based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I currently work as a Project Manager at WRI Brasil, where I lead the GEF-8 Restaura Biomas project, part of the ERIP program, with WRI serving as the Executing Agency. I have been working for more than two decades in biodiversity conservation and ecological restoration, collaborating with governments, NGOs, and local communities to promote large-scale restoration and strengthen public policies related to forests and biodiversity.
Through this Forum, I’m particularly interested in exchanging experiences on large-scale restoration strategies, governance and financing mechanisms, and approaches to strengthening restoration networks and local actors. I’m also very interested in learning from other countries’ experiences on integrating restoration with biodiversity and climate commitments.
I look forward to learning from this community and exploring opportunities for collaboration.
Thank you so much for sharing this, Gabriela, and welcome to the ERIP Forum! Having someone with your background in governance, policy, and multi‑stakeholder collaboration, as well as experience working in a country with such a longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship, is a tremendous asset to this community.
Your interest in exchanging experiences with restoration scaling, governance, financing, or community engagement is exactly the kind of dialogue we hope to spark here. If anyone else has experience with any of these areas, please feel encouraged to jump in! Sharing insights, questions, or project examples will help build a richer understanding across contexts—and may even create new opportunities for collaboration.
We’re glad to have you here and look forward to your contributions to future discussions!
